If anyone had stood up in a crowd and said that the Detroit Lions would be 5 – 0 while the Indianapolis Colts were 0 – 5, they might have been tarred, feathered, placed in the center of a downtown area and laughed at from a good, hearty place by all those who walked by.

But alas, that poor, hypothetical being would have been entirely correct, and we would have all have had to swallow our words, no matter how bitter they may be.

With the first five weeks of regular season play, the National Football League has had the foundations turned upside down, teams that were completely inept and aloof about two years ago are now among the top of the league.
