The Happy Gardeners met for their November meeting at the home of Cathy Downs. Co-hostesses were Linda Newton and Lisa Best. The ladies enjoyed an assortment of refreshments and conversation before the meeting.
Area bikers will rev their engines for a good cause on Dec. 14 when the second annual Ruston Toy Run takes off.
Registration for the event, sponsored by the North Central American Bikers Aimed Toward Education of Louisiana, will begin at 10 a.m., and kickstands will go up at 11:30 a.m. at Lowe’s of Ruston’s Garden Center.
The cost per rider is $10 and either a new toy or four canned goods.
The Lincoln Parish School Board approved a new skill level compensation plan for noncertified employees of the school district during the regular meeting Tuesday night.
“Sometimes its hard to replace a good employee,” Superintendent Danny Bell said. “We have a good benefits program even for noncertified employees, but for many noncertificated employees this is all new.”
The compensation plan will cost the district an additional $300,000 and will be given to employees in increments according to their longevity.
