During the holidays, many people get into the spirit by making donations to various charitable organizations.
Unfortunately, during the rest of the year, some organizations struggle to meet the needs of the people they serve. That is certainly true of Christian Community Action, one of the areas local food banks.

Humanitarian Enterprises of Lincoln Parish has been awarded Low Income Home Energy Assistance funds to help families with burden of high utility costs. H.E.L.P. will begin scheduling appointments and not the application process, effective 8 a.m. Friday for the following week, and will continue to schedule appointments only on Friday of each week on a first-come-first serve basis until funds are depleted.
Bobby J. Conville Jr., left, presented a short history of Rotary International to the members of the Ruston Rotary Club. The program was a commemoration of the 69th anniversary of Rotary, which was celebrated in 1974. Ray Madden, right, vice president of the club, presented Conville a certificate. The Ruston Rotary Club was formed in 1943. At the time of this presentation, Dr. H. J. Sachs is the only resident charter member of the Ruston Club.
