Readying yard for winter, avoiding ants

During the last week I was out at a deer camp and noticed a field of oak trees that had been planted to some special trees that they had gotten from the Department of Forestry.

I asked what kind were they and they couldn’t remember. Well I have some that I got also from the forestry department, and I can’t remember either. They are a very fast tall-growing tree. Mine are about 10 years old and border my yard. They are about 10 to 12 inches in diameter and a good 40 feet tall.
