According to a release from the Louisiana Department of Education, iLEAP scores present a good indication of how well a child will perform on the LEAP exam, taken in the fourth and eighth grades.

Lincoln Parish Supervisor of Testing, Evaluation and Curriculum Eric Carter said the iLEAP is part norm-referenced and part criterion-referenced.

“Certain test questions are classified as norm-referenced, some are linked to GLE’s and some get counted for both,” Carter said.

“A child could score very well on one part and then poorly on the other.”
