A ruptured gas line on the corner of West California Avenue and Adams Boulevard Friday afternoon caused the evacuation of six buildings located within the gas line’s radius. According to reports from the Ruston Fire Department, a cable company boring under the sidewalk in front of Pearce Dormitory hit a small service line, causing gas to leak in the area. Ruston Police Department officers blocked traffic and contacted the gas company. Pearce Dormitory, Subway, California Tanning, U.S. Agencies and Hi Tech Computers were all evacuated. The gas company arrived at 2:30 p.m.
