Come together for progress
Louisiana’s Oct. 22 primary elections have come and gone.
Following Saturday’s races, a few things will change, but many things will remain the same.
After obtaining 65.8 percent of the vote against nine competitors, Gov. Bobby Jindal will hold onto his seat for another four years.
In the Louisiana Senate races, Bob Kostelka will continue to represent portions of Lincoln Parish in Senate District 35. State House District 11 representative Rick Gallot was elected as senator to represent Senate District 29, a new minority district created when the legislature redrew the Senate map lines following the 2010 U.S. Census. Elected to take over Gallot’s House District 11 seat was Patrick Jefferson. The Homer attorney will represent parts of Bienville, Claiborne and Lincoln parishes in the state House.
