Reeling in the midst of consecutive losses to Ouachita and at West Monroe, the Ruston Bearcats were looking to bounce back on to the Class 5A playoff track Friday with a home game against No. 15 ranked Natchitoches Central.

Junior running Alexio Williams-Hargrove proved he was the Bearcats’ “engine that could” get them back on that track, as he steamrolled his way for 233 rushing yards on 33 carries, including a 33-yard touchdown, to lead Ruston to a 21-6 win over the Chiefs at James Stadium.
The win put Ruston at 5-4 overall and 1-2 in District 1-5A heading into next week’s regular-season finale at Pineville (4-5, 0-3).
