Lincoln Parish Fire and Grambling Fire Departments responded to a truck fire around 4 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 20 near the Simsboro exit. LPFD spokesman Jim Hilton said Jimmie Ingram, 67, of Monroe, was hauling hay to Texas, and it appears the truck had a flat tire on the right side of the trailer. Hilton said the tire overheated, came apart, caught fire and spread to the hay being hauled. The trailer suffered moderate damage, and the truck, which was disconnected from the trailer, had only minor damage. No injuries were reported.
