Tipton Associates Urban Designer Scott D’Agostino gathers information about a structure in Ruston. The City of Ruston has launched a project to perform a comprehensive inventory and condition assessment of historic structures in the Core District.

A new initiative is under way in the City of Ruston Historic District to protect the historic architectural fabric for future generations. Partly supported by grant funding, this effort was a recommendation in the recently completed city master plan, Ruston 21.

“Ruston’s heritage and historic past are important elements of who we are and how we developed as a community and as a people,” Ruston Mayor Dan Hollingsworth said. “Their preservation was deemed a priority by citizens who participated in our Ruston 21 initiative.”
