Safer paths to classes
GRAMBLING — Students at Grambling State University may soon find their walk to class a little less hectic as the Grambling City Council is working to provide safer sidewalks and more signage to West College Avenue.
Grambling Town Engineer Dean Dick said his office found a project called Safe Routes to Schools, funded by the state Department of Transportation and Development.
“We presented it to the council and the mayor, and they authorized us to proceed with the application,” he said. “After the application, we were selected as one of the only nine in the state to receive the approval.”
