Submitted photo Paul Tucker of Monroe is setting the engraved bricks on the Veterans Flagpole surround in Choudrant.  The monument will be surrounded by flowers, contain lighting for the flag and will hold a bronze plaque dedicating the project to all who served.

The Village of Choudrant will unveil its newest beautification project at 11 a.m. Friday as part of a Veterans Day celebration.

In the past year, the Choudrant Restoration and Beautification Society placed a large flagpole in downtown Choudrant, and surrounded it with memorial bricks sold to help commemorate any veterans or loved ones the buyer chooses.

CRABS president and project chairman Wayne Coker said the bricks of veterans received preferential treatment, being placed closest to the flagpole.
