Club offers After-School KidzLit
The Boys and Girls Clubs of North Central Louisiana has begun another year with After-School KidzLit being at the forefront of their programs.
After-School KidzLit is a reading enrichment program that motivates youth in kindergarten through eighth grades to read, builds their literacy skills and develops the core values of helpfulness, fairness, personal responsibility and respect for others.
This year, the After-School KidzLit was launched with Grambling State University and the Louisiana Tech University Men’s Basketball teams. Players read stories to youth of all ages, and they also stressed the importance of staying in school and having good grades. The assistant coaches spoke to the club members about being responsible individuals, having great attitudes and always doing the right thing.
