Celebrating survivors with pillow cases
Students in Darlene Johnson’s clothing and textiles class constructed personalized breast cancer awareness pillowcases for breast cancer survivors. Each pillowcase was constructed by a student and monogrammed with a breast cancer survivor’s name. Students were proud to construct and present a monogrammed pillowcase to the following persons also pictured with Johnson and the students: RHS Principal Mike Milstead received a pillowcase for his mother, Joyce Milstead, a 17-year survivor; Loretta Ford, employed at RHS, is a six-year survivor; Mary Null, director of personnel at the Lincoln Parish School Board, received a pillowcase for her mother Carolyn Risinger, a 22-year survivor; Glenview Elementary School Principal Lisa Mangum is a three-year survivor and Rixie Thompson, retired from Grambling State University’s School of Nursing, is a survivor of 27 years.
Thompson is a two-time survivor.
