Exama leads All-SWAC picks for Grambling

GRAMBLING — If there was one constant trademark of Grambling State University’s football team when fall training camp kicked off, it was the guy wearing jersey number “50.”

That’s Cliff Exama, the hard-hitting linebacker who was everybody’s pick to earn first-unit All-Southwestern Athletic Conference honors and be in the running for the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award.

Well, mission achieved for the North Miami Beach, Fla., native who was announced for both of those honors on Wednesday afternoon.
