The Masterworks Chorus and Louisiana Tech University Chorus have practiced since September to perform Handel’s “Messiah” for the Ruston community.

It’s been more than a decade since a group of Ruston residents came together for the first time to perform a song known to most as the “hallelujah song.”

North Central Louisiana Masterworks Chorus originally performed the song, Handel’s “Messiah,” in 2000 under the direction of Jodie Williams, according to Judy Moore, the choir’s president.

The choir, along with the Louisiana Tech University, Choir will perform the song again at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Howard Auditorium.
