Last month we began a series of holiday season comments on the atmosphere and meaning of this time of year. We shared some of the thoughts about reliance on God, not just government. Some of these thoughts may to some seem corny, maybe even a little simple. However, in this day and time, both at home and abroad, I am content to have the same warmth of heart and smile on my face now that those shepherds had so long ago.

I am content to think of the “simple” reliance upon God. Do you remember the reaction after the shepherds left? They were excited and happy. They did not have any more earthly wealth, but their lives had been changed. Can we expect to have happiness in our lives after our visit to the Child of Bethlehem? You betcha.
