Lincoln among 12 school districts to pilot new evaluations

The 2012-13 school year is set to bring some changes to the way Louisiana teachers are evaluated, and Lincoln Parish schools are getting a special sneak peek at how those evaluations will work.

According to the Louisiana Department of Education website, Lincoln Parish joins with only 11 other school districts in piloting the implementation of Act 54, a state education act passed in 2010 that is designed to evaluate teachers based on student achievement levels. The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education voted on Dec. 6 to approve the plan to implement Act 54, but said the changes are big enough that it will likely require many adjustments in the coming years.
