Grigsby, Latiolais unite in matrimony

Lindsay Cale Grigsby, of Ruston, and Aaron Michael Latiolais, of Franklin, were united in matrimony at a 6 p.m. ceremony Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry Gene Grigsby and Sally Stokes Grigsby, both of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Sara Samuels Stokes, of Mansfield, the late Daniel Stokes, Ms. Jerry Beck, of Mansfield, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gene Grigsby.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Danny Gerard Latiolais, of Franklin. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Gibson, of Baldwin, Mr. and Mrs. James Simpson, of Centerville, Mrs. Faye Bourg Latiolais, of Baldwin and the late Arthur Latiolais.

The wedding ceremony was officiated by Brian Mercer.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an ivory tissue taffeta gown with a rouched sweetheart neckline, adorned with an appliqué of rhinestones, sequins, rocals and crystals. The fitted rouched bodice featured covered buttons and appliqués of rhinestones, sequins, rocals and crystals cascading down the center back of the gown. Her fingertip veil was a double layer of illusion tulle.

Lindsay carried a hand-tied bouquet of hot pink roses with lemon leaf greenery at the base wrapped in ivory satin. Tied in the bouquet were a handkerchief from her grandmother and a charm honoring Bo Best.

Serving the bride as matron of honor was Amy Grigsby Bigler, of New Iberia. Bridesmaids included Emily Critselous Brister, of Bossier City, Jessica Potter Brumley, of Ruston, Lindsey Ann Graham, of Ruston, Jennifer Conser Grigsby, of Tyler, Texas, Amy Stevenson Hudson, of Quitman, Molly McCormack Lebrun, of Shreveport, Erin Kristina Negron, of Shreveport, and Jacqueline Latiolais O’Niell, of Broussard.

Each bridesmaid wore a full-length, strapless black satin gown with a sweetheart neckline and fitted band waist. The fitted skirt had soft gathers flowing to the floor.

They carried hand tied bouquets of hot pink spray roses, hot pink roses, purple statice, lime hypericum berries with twigs and lemon leaf at the base. Each bouquet was fastened with black satin ribbon.

Junior bridesmaids were Caroline Elizabeth Bigler and Molly Cale Bigler, both of New Iberia.

They wore ivory tissue taffeta dresses with scoop necklines and wide straps. The rouched bodice of the dresses also had gentle gathers flowing into the A-line skirt.

Serving as Aaron’s best man was Tristen Matthew James, of Jeanerette. Groomsmen for the ceremony were Christopher Ryan Bigler, of New Iberia, Bryan Alan Charpentier, of Franklin, Jason Stokes Grigsby, of Tyler, Texas, Danny Gerard Latiolais, of Franklin, Matthew Charles Mekash, of Jeanerette, Phillip Gerald Mekash, of Jeanerette, Michael Brereton O’Niell, of Broussard, and Phillip Ryan Rollins, of Jeanerette.

Usher for the ceremony was Bobby Joe Gibson Jr., of Lafayette. Serving as junior groomsmen were Cameron Paul Grigsby and Hayden Stokes Grigsby, both of Tyler, Texas.

Annie Rose James, of Ruston, served as flower girl and Henry Floyd James, of Ruston, served as ring bearer. Christopher Jackson Bigler, of New Iberia, served as the bell ringer.

Book attendants were Kasey Hughes Stringer, of Jonesboro, and Sumer Sonnier Parnell, of Simsboro. Program attendants were Brynn Mikel Gibson and Sadie Denae’ Gibson, both of Lafayette.

Music for the ceremony was provided by soloist and pianist Grant Terry and organist Micky Cloud.

Following the wedding a reception was held at the Ruston Civic Center where Judy Davis, with Tall Timbers, provided the catering. Music was provided by Windstorm and flowers were designed by Lauren Roebuck Designs.

Prior to the wedding several showers were held honoring the couple.

On Dec. 10 a Bridesmaid’s Brunch was held at Hair Studio and was hosted by Alnita Carroll and Rita Thompson.

A rehearsal dinner was held on Dec. 9 at 102 a Bistro and was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Danny Latiolais.

On Nov. 18 a bachelor party was held in Grande Isle hosted by Tristen James and Michael O’Niell.

A Kitchen Shower was held Nov. 12 at Candee Anderson’s home. The shower was hosted by Candee Anderson, Linda Colvin, Linda Goss, Sally Graham, Pam Jones, Deb Lary, Kathey Roane and Mary Sue Smelley.

A Bridal Shower was held Nov. 5 at the home of Rachel Barmore. Shannon Puljak, Terri Phillips, Shannon Perot, Betty Sheeler, Heather Pearson, Kay Rabb, Kathy Shealy, Ginger Aycock, Lisa Hixon and Rachel Barmore hosted the shower.

A Honey Do Shower was held at the Fairfax House in Franklin on Oct. 29. Hosting the shower were Mary and Mark Robicheaux, Peggy and Bryan Charpentier, Patti Ibert, Lynn and John O’Niell, Jacqueline and Michael O’Niell, Cheryl Kemper, Lisa and Walton Moss, Susan and Rick Lorenzo and Gail and Jim Simpson.

A Feather Your Nest shower was held on Oct. 21 at the home of Jill James. Hosting the shower were Katie Clark, Jill James, Jenny James and Jennifer Grigsby.

On Sept. 24 an Engagement Party was held at the Ruston Country Club. The party was hosted by Cathy and Rusty Critselous, Penny and Bob Gant, Jan and Glen Grigsby, Debbie and Butch Hightower, Penny and Jackie James, Kim and Paul McCormack, Kathleen and Jim Mitchell, Margaret and Paul Nolan, Virginia Rainwater, Mary Eleanor and Robert Temple, Melinda Maxwell and David Hedgepeth.

A Lingerie Shower and bachelorette weekend was held Sept. 2 in Orange Beach, Ala. and was hosted by Amy Bigler.

The couple will honeymoon in Antigua and upon returning will reside in Youngsville, Louisiana.
