Dean on ‘Ring of Honor’ at Poinsettia Bowl

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Fred Dean may be long removed from the San Diego Chargers’ roster, but his legendary feats still live on.

And when Louisiana Tech University plays in the San Diego Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on Wednesday night, Bulldogs’ fans who will be in attendance will be able to appreciate the contributions of “Mean Fred” during his days as a member of that National Football League.
On the upper reaches of Qualcomm Stadium and stretching nearly halfway around the facility where Tech will play TCU in the bowl game are names of great players who have been honored by the Chargers in their Ring of Honor.
