Birdhouse sales benefit Dixie
Dixie Board President Lynne Gnemi and Vice President John Emory Jr. display one of the 2011 Dixie Christmas gifts. Each year the Dixie Center for the Arts sells a unique gift provided by a local business. This year the original designed birdhouses are provided by Jeff Robinson and the employees of Rustiques Architectural Antiques of Ruston. The houses are made of reclaimed woods, some 100 years old. The cypress comes from a 150 mile surrounding area, and the antique heart pine, bead board and old signs are from Georgia and South Carolina. Birdhouses are on display in the Dixie lobby and range in price from $20 to $40. Proceeds from sales go directly to the Dixie. For additional information contact Emory at 265-1954.
