As local residents have driven to work or to go Christmas shopping over the past few weeks, they may have found themselves dragging a little bit in traffic.

The city of Ruston and Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development have already launched multiple construction projects, and more work is planned.

Among the projects are a turning lane to be built on Vienna Street near the Georgia Avenue intersection, a sewer line rehabilitation project on Trenton Street from Pine Avenue to Louisiana Avenue; and a subsurface drainage installation project to reduce flooding on Trenton Street between Georgia and Carolina avenues and on Georgia Avenue between Monroe and Trenton streets.
