Tech faces pedestrian traffic concerns

Jordan Gallacher and his seeing-eye dog September were at the corner of Adams Boulevard and Arizona Avenue on Louisiana Tech’s campus a few weeks ago, when a cyclist, going the wrong way, came close to hitting them.

The abruptness of the cyclist cut them off from walking across the street and startled September, a sandy-haired retriever whose guidance Gallacher relies upon.

“I have just enough vision to be able to somewhat tell how close the bicyclist is from me,” said Gallacher, a senior business management major at Tech. “If my dog has to stop or do some sort of maneuver to get out of the way, that is too close.”
