Barnes, Sasser exchange vows

Jessica Barnes, of Choudrant, and Darrell Kody Sasser, of Tioga, recently exchanged wedding vows. The couple was married in a 6 p.m. ceremony Dec. 10 at the Bridge Community Church.
Jessica is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Barnes, of Choudrant. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Barnes, of Choudrant, and Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hammons, of Choudrant.

Kody is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth “Cannonball” Sasser, of Tioga. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. D.K. Sasser, of Florien, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gintz,, of Tioga.

The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Bill Willis.

The bride, given in marriage by her parents, wore an ivory and champagne strapless charmeuse dress adorned with a ribbon sash featuring a beautiful appliqué detail. The gown’s side-sweep detail and train created an elegant and timeless look. Her veil was adorned with vintage appliqués to match the wedding gown. Jessica carried a bouquet of red roses accented with silver berries.

Serving as maid of honor was Emily Barr, of Choudrant. Rachel Sasser, of Stonewall, Lindsay Burton, of Choudrant, Melody Sahuque, of Metairie, Emily Barnes, of West Monroe, Brittany Pippen, of Pineville, and Julia Barnes, Monticello, Ark., served as bridesmaids.
Each bridesmaid playfully matched the décor with navy strapless dresses and cranberry shoes. They each carried a bouquet matching the bride’s with red roses and silver accents.
Serving Kody as best man was Kyle Sasser, of Tioga. Trey Brown, of Pineville, Jared Rolen, of Griffin, Ga., Marc Mercer, of Ball, Josh Rachow, of Ball, Shelby Wise, of Minden, and Travis Wimer, of Shreveport, all served as groomsmen.

Ushers for the ceremony were Jared Carter, of Shreveport, and Zach Choate, of Bossier City.
Music for the ceremony was provided by soloist Brittany Pippen and guitarist Trey Brown.
A reception was held after the wedding ceremony at the Norton Building.
Prior to the wedding a rehearsal dinner was held at the Historic Firehouse at 6 p.m. Dec. 9 and was hosted by the groom’s parents.

Leading up to the wedding festivities, the couple were honored with a few showers.
On Nov. 19, a bridal shower was held at the Alabama Presbyterian Church, and was hosted by the women of the church.

On Nov. 20, a couple’s shower was held at the home of Becky Pippen. The shower was hosted by Cindy Sasser, Becky Pippen, Missy Jolly and Rachel Sasser.

A Christmas shower was on Dec. 8 was hosted by Kathy and Emily Barr.

After the wedding, the couple honeymooned at Disney World and upon returning, now reside in Pineville.
