Allison Ewing (with basketball) pulled in 12 rebounds, scored two points and had a steal and assist each to help lead Cedar Creek High to a 57-27 District 2-1A victory over Monroe St. Frederick’s on Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars are ranked in the Top 10 of the first weekly Class 1A Louisiana Sports Writers Association poll.

In March, Ruston will serve as the site for the finals of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s annual boys’ and girls’ basketball playoffs.

If the first weekly state polls are any measuring stick, Four Lincoln Parish schools just might have a good chance to be among the participants at that event which is set for the Thomas Assembly Center March 8-10.

Girls’ teams from Cedar Creek and Dubach and boys’ squads from Simsboro and Choudrant are included in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association poll that was announced on Wednesday.
