Ruston firefighters warn public about heating houses with open flame

Exact numbers weren't available, but Ruston Fire Department Public Information Officer Jerry Lewis says many local fires have been blamed on open flames.
"We've had a good many kitchen fires or fires that involve an open heat source," Lewis said. "Another big concern is carbon monoxide poisoning which is caused by poor or no ventilation and incomplete combustion."
