Mostly (teenagers) are interested in social relationships. If you look at what they are doing they are text messaging, instant messaging and visiting social network Web sites. Kids tend to be very social, and they use technology to aid that.”

Unfortunately, some of this socialization is unhealthy, so parents need to take an active role in overseeing children’s computer usage, said Wheat, a father of two who also serves as the director of information services at the Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home.
