Jones, Landry exchange vows

Michelle Lee Jones, of Ruston, and Jacob Daniel Landry, of Belle Rose, were united in marriage at six o’clock in the evening on Saturday at the Douglas United Methodist Church in Choudrant.

The ceremony was performed by the uncle of the bride, the Rev. Ronald Cathey.
Michelle is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Aubrey Jones, of Ruston. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Aubrey Jones and the late Mr. Jones, of Choudrant, and Mrs. Malcolm Cathey and the late Mr.Cathey, of Simsboro.

Jacob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel John Landry, of Belle Rose. He is the grandson of Mrs. Neil Dominique Landry, Sr. and the late Mr. Landry and Mrs. Percy Joseph Landry, Jr. and the late Mr. Landry, all of Belle Rose.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a gown designed by Yvonne LaFleur of New Orleans. It was a modified A-line, sweetheart neckline creation of satin, covered in Italian lace. It featured covered buttons down the length of the train and was finished with an ivory satin sash, tied at the waist and complemented with a pearl and crystal broach. Her cathedral length veil featured an elbow length blusher, accented with a gold and crystal broach. She carried hydrangeas in a variety of colors.

The bride’s sister, Catherine Lee Jones, of Nashville, Tenn., served as maid of honor and Keri Chatelain Graham, of Baton Rouge, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jordan Dauzat Hughes, of Shreveport, Angle Gleason Smith, of Shreveport, Jennifer Lauren Hall, of New Orleans, Kimberly Ashy Swart, of Pineville, Brittany Terry Albritton, of Ruston and Briley Brasher Cotton, of Shreveport.

Members of the house party were Erica Dugas Piper, of Prarieville, Loran Roberts Garnerm, of Dallas, Texas, Samatha Sheehan Lantrip, of Ruston, and Sarah Descant Marks, of Minden. The attendants wore knee-length silk taffeta dresses in aged driftwood hues.

Serving their brother Jacob as best men were Brandon John Landry and Jordan Michael Landry, of Belle Rose. Groomsmen were William Michael Jones, of Baton Rouge, brother of the bride, and Luke Pizzolatto, cousin of the groom, of Batesville, Ark., Lance Mark Callegan, of White Castle, Bruno Joseph Savoia, Daniel Phillip Shaheen and Scott Paul Schexnayder, all of Donaldsonville.

Ushers were Brett James Landry, cousin of the groom, of Belle Rose, Paul Schexnayder and Matthew James Landry, both of Donaldsonville.

Amelia Louise Landry, of Belle Rose, cousin of the groom, was flower girl and Alex Paul Landry, of Napoleonville, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

A special passage was read by Catherine Ragsdale Tucker. Music was provided by Four Seasons Quartet.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant.

A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents on Friday at the Historic Fire Station in Ruston. Attending were members of the wedding party, parents and grandparents of the couple, other relatives and out-of-town guests.

A “Honey-Do” shower was held on Sept. 17, in Belle Rose at the home of Jimbo and Nobie Landry, assisted by other family members.

The beautiful home of Ann Marie Mills in Choudrant was the setting for a miscellaneous shower at 10 a.m. on Oct. 15. Other hostesses included, Sheryl Durrett, Faith Alexander, Cathy Cristselous, Olivia Gordon, Sally Graham, Sue Gullatt, the two Liz Hoods, Angel May, Jan Murphy, Sherri Pearce and Mariam Stone.

In the afternoon of Oct. 15, a M & M shower was held in the stylish home of Linda Dwyer. TeJo Avery, Salli Alexander, Mary Elizabeth Halbrook, Jenny Cole and Becky Holtzclaw were co-hostessess.

A “stock the kitchen” shower was held in Belle Rose on Oct. 29. Hosting the event were Stephen and Becky Dupont, Jay and Kay Dugas, Keith and Robin Landry and Justin and Erica Dugas Piper.

Candee Anderson’s lovely home was the site of a Christmas shower on Dec. 3. Mothers-daughters were co-hosts for this unique event: Candee Anderson and Britney Albritton, as well as Kathy Nelson and Katie Garcia, also, DeAnna Sheehan and Samantha Lantrip, and Krista Hines and Loran Garner.

A wedding day bridal luncheon was held Feb. 4 at Squire Creek. Hostesses were Melinda Maxwell, Helen Thornton, Nancy Donner, Becky Crawford, Vicki Neal, Nancy Ruth Knox and Debbie Haddox.

A Bachelorette wedding was hosted by Catherine Jones and Kerri Graham in Nashville, Tenn., the weekend before the wedding.

The couple chose Costa Rica for their honeymoon, after which they will be at home in Addis.
