A glimpse at Ruston Elementary
It’s 6 a.m., and I have just arrived to prepare for the day ahead. Organizing my thoughts and reviewing my calendar is usually a futile action each morning, because a principal’s day is never the same.
It’s 6:45 a.m. and the first bus has arrived with our most important responsibility: the children. After feeding almost 500 children breakfast, we assemble in the gym for morning affirmations and announcements. As I gaze into the eyes of all the children, I understand and appreciate the task that I have been given. I realize each day they arrive that it is our responsibility to provide them with the best education we can possibly give them.
