Local resident reflects on his career working with famous musicians

Bruce Roebuck, “Soul Roe,” worked at Grambling State University for 11 years. During that time he was responsible for acquiring musical acts for GSU events, namely the Bayou Classic and Spring Fest.

In particular, Roebuck recalled meeting Etta James at the 1988 Bayou Classic. Each year either Grambling or Southern State University would host the Bayou Classic.

The GSU National Alumni Association sponsored the concerts.
