In Lincoln Parish, we have five individuals who will be representing our interests in Baton Rouge when the legislative session begins on March 12.

Lincoln Parish was divided into three senate districts after the Census count in 2010, which left us without a majority stake in any of the districts.

Because of this, it is more important than ever for Lincoln Parish residents to make sure that state senators and representatives know how we feel about the issues at hand. Each district is more geographically diverse than it was previously, which means senators have the concerns of voters in other parishes to worry about as well. These men that we have elected to represent us — Rob Shadoin and Patrick Jefferson in the House of Representatives and Rick Gallot, Mike Walsworth and Bob Kostelka in the Senate — can’t do so properly if we do not express our views to them.
