Grambling loses to LSU, 17-10

BATON ROUGE .— Rightfielder Raph Rhymes drove home a career high six runs Tuesday night and first baseman Mason Katz reached base six times as No. 13 LSU (6-2) outlasted Grambling State (5-3) in a 17-10 slugfest at Alex Box Stadium.

LSU will head to Lake Charles Wednesday to take on McNeese State at 6:30 p.m. at Cowboy Diamond. The Tigers defeated the Cowboys 11-4 on Feb. 22 in Alex Box Stadium.

Right-hander Joe Broussard (1-0) recorded the win for LSU Tuesday after relieving freshman Cody Glenn in the fourth. Broussard and Glenn combined to strike out 11 batters, including the first for batters of the game for Glenn and five straight for Broussard.
