Ruston Parks and Recreation is marching onto the tennis courts. Beginning March 12 RPAR will be offering cardio tennis.

What is Cardio Tennis? You might have seen Anna Kournikova put the participants through their cardio tennis paces on the ABC weight loss series “Biggest Loser.”

This program started in September 2005 by the Tennis Industry Association as a way to get more people involved in the sport. If you are a fan of the U.S. Open, you might have seen the first advertisement for cardio tennis during that tournament back in 2005.
