After opening the season with a pair of top four finishes in their first two events of the year, the Louisiana Tech University Bulldog golf team has earned its highest recorded ranking ever with a No. 39 ranking by Golfstat.com
The previous highest ranking was No. 98, accomplished twice in the past 20 years.
Tech, which is 25-5-1 through two tournaments this fall, is the second highest ranked Western Athletic Conference team (trailing only No. 43 ranked San Jose State) and the third highest ranked team in the state behind No. 20 ranked LSU and No. 49 ranked Southeastern Louisiana.
GRAMBLING — For the second time already this season, Grambling State University has lost a Southwestern Athletic Conference game by single digits and in a heart-breaking manner.
In the season opener earlier this month, the Tigers (0-3, 0-2) were edged, 22-21, in the final seconds by Alcorn State University.
On Saturday night, in a home opener at Robinson Stadium, Alabama State University (2-1, 2-0) used a fake punt in the final quarter to stay alive and set up a game-winning touchdown in a 19-18 win.

How much did it mean to be one of the guest instructors at the recent Fred Dean ‘Hall of Fame Pro Day’ in Ruston?: It was a great time to be with a great group of guys and to be able to give something back to the youth in our area. It’s important to help our younger people and give them the right guidance and this camp definitely did that. It was very enjoyable.
