Protect plants from the unexpected
Warm weather can be tempting to entice a person to think it is time to plant the summer blooming plants or put out tomatoes.
We can, but make an alternate plan in order to care for the plants if a freeze comes. It can happen. This winter we have had several warm-ups and then cold fronts move in and drop the temperature below freezing.
The average last freeze date is Thursday, however, it can be two weeks later. If you protect the plants with plastic be certain that it is removed before the direct sun hits the plants.
