White, Evans win Fishers of Men title

Submitted photo Earning first place honors in the recent North Central Louisiana Fishers of Men tournament were Eric Evans (left) and Brian White. The tournament was held on Lake D’Arbonne. White, who lives in Monroe, and West Monroe resident Evans gained the victory over the second place team of John Ross of Farmerville and Patrick Daniel of Rayville. The championship duo ended with an overall total of 16.49 pounds. The next tournament on the Fishers of Men trail for 2012 will be held at Caney Lake on April 21.

Area anglers of the North Central Louisiana Division of the Fishers of Men recently returned to the waters for their second tournament of the five-tournament season.

Launching from Ludwig Brothers Marine on Lake D’Arbonne shortly after daybreak, the field of competitors set out for their favorite holes with hopes of claiming a share of the $2,575 prize to be distributed at the end of the day.

When the weigh-in scales closed just after 3 p.m., Brent White of Monroe and Eric Evans of West Monroe emerged with the victory.
