Rehearsing for regional competition are Piney Hills Harmony members (from left) Kathy Hightower, Homer; Suzy Henderson, Ruston; Karen Downs, Monroe; and Lisa Holmes, Sharon. The chorus earned Most Improved honors at this year’s contest in Dallas.

The coveted Most Improved Chorus status came home with Piney Hills Harmony when the group returned from its regional Sweet Adelines competition in Dallas.

The Ruston-based chorus competed with 17 other choruses from five states in the March contest. Piney Hills Harmony scored 74 more points than it did last year, giving it not only Most Improved honors, but also fifth place among small choruses.

The group was led by Ruston resident Sheila Nugent, who is in only her second year of directing the chorus.
