Local schools raise money for MOD
Ruston High School held its first Blue Jeans for Babies fundraising event to benefit the March of Dimes. This event was sponsored by the RHS Student Council. Students were given the option to wear jeans to school that day rather than the traditional school uniform slacks, by making at least a $1 donation to the March of Dimes. Money will be used to help fund research and care for babies born with birth defects or born prematurely. Landon Sims, freshman representative to the Student Council, coordinated the event. Student Council officers presented a check for $171.30 on behalf of the Ruston High student body, faculty and staff to Nancy Darland, Lincoln Parish March of Dimes Volunteer. Accompanying them are RHS Student Council Vice-President Jake Haddox and President Nick Letendre.
