Former NFL players Rickey Jackson (left) and Petey Perot chat during the recent Fred Dean “Pro Day Camp” held at the Louisiana Tech University practice field. Jackson, the first New Orleans Saints’ player ever inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, served as a guest instructor at the camp. Perot is the offensive line coach at Tech who was the position coach for ex-Saints’ star and 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Will Roaf.

Rickey Jackson is in the record books as the first member of the New Orleans Saints organization ever to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Now, the six-time Pro Bowl linebacker is holding the door open for other outstanding players from the franchise to reach the steps of the Canton-based shrine.

“There’s one going in this summer, and there’s going to be some more to be going in later from the Saints,” Jackson said during the annual Fred Dean ‘Pro Day Camp’ held in Ruston last weekend and where he served as one of the guest instructors. “I’m about to have some company.”
