Both white and black residents from the Farmerville area spoke out against the concept of a charter school and re-opening a school in Rocky Branch.

One unnamed resident of Rocky Branch stood up and said, “Whenever race gets brought up, it’s always the blacks that do it.”

Rocky Branch residents argued that the charter group has invited black and white preachers to a meeting several months ago to discuss how the charter school would be for everyone in the parish.
Bimbo Chapman, a board member of the charter group, said not one black preacher showed up.
