At the Grambling Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Annual Freedom Fund Banquet held this past Saturday night, NAACP members joined together for a night of food, music, door prizes and to listen to a renowned guest speaker.

Tonea Stewart, an actress known for her reoccurring role on the NBC show “In the Heat of the Night,” and also a professor at Alabama State University, shared anecdotes and bits of wisdom with the crowd about contemporary society and the need to remember the past in order to keep going forward with a bright future.
