Attendance zones remain the same, schools to pair

Parents and community members listen to plans to desegregate the four Ruston elementary schools for the 2012-13 school year.

More than 150 parents, teachers and community members were witness to a historic decision by the Lincoln Parish School Board during a special-called meeting on Tuesday night.

After having a week to review two plans to revise the four Ruston district elementary schools’ attendance zones, community members saw board members vote unanimously to adopt Plan A. This plan will leave attendance zones as they are now, it will simply implement a pairing system.
