The hot, lazy and sometimes crazy days of summer are upon us.
But in the last couple of months, the nation’s sports pages, Facebook/Twitter trails and ESPN SportsCenter have been sizzling with some interesting and intriquing storylines.
Among them:

SAPP FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY: I’m trying my best to figure this one out and have come to an obvious conclusion: whatever Warren Sapp is paying his accountant, it’s far too much. The former Pro Bowl linebacker is nearly $7 million in debt. Here’s one good reason for his monetary woes. Or make that 230. He owns 230 pairs of Jordan shoes. I always remember what former NFL running back Earl Campbell once said about pro athletes who want to live in the fast lane. “If you want to live like Hugh Hefner, you better have Hugh’s money.” Or in Sapp’s case, at least have Michael’s money.
