Retirement wishful thinking — lies to ourselves

Question: Whenever I bring up the topic of retirement, my husband brushes me off by telling me that he’s never going to retire. He always points out that his mother and father both lived and worked into their 80’s. Should I be worried?
 
Answer: Yep.

I can’t speak for women, but I know that we men can be very adept at lying to ourselves.
We tell ourselves that a beer gut is sexy, a hair piece looks natural and that we’ll always be young. Young enough, at least, to keep working.
