Bertles, Hennigan wed in Palm Beach
Katherine Conger Bertles and James Radian Hennigan were married April 21 at Bethesda by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Palm Beach, Fla. The Rev. James R. Harlan officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of James and Lisa Bertles of Palm Beach. She is the granddaughter of the late E.R. Preston Jr. and Jean Bender Preston. Her paternal grandparents were the late William M. Bertles Jr. and the late Eileen Billet Bertles.
The groom is the son of Radian and Margie Hennigan, of Ruston. He is the grandson of the late Lt. Col. John R. Hennigan and Bonnie Hennigan, the late James Z. Mills and late Iris Faye Clarkston.
The bride wore a gown by Vera Wang and a Belgian lace veil with a train now in its third generation. She carried a bouquet of white Peonies, white Freesia, Gardenias and Vendela Roses.
Attending the bride as the maid of honor was her sister Preston Elizabeth Bertles. Bridesmaids were Hannah Hennigan Salem, of Spring Lake, N.C., the bridegroom’s sister; Carissa Coniglio, of Palm Beach, Jamie Donchess, of Chicago, Meredith Reeves, of Boston, and Lauren Beegal, Becca Field, Katie Ross, Dana Marine and Arlyn Stokes, all of Washington, DC. They carried bouquets of deep coral peonies.
Nathaniel Kyle Hennigan, of Shreveport, served as best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Alex Bertles, of Palm Beach, brother of the bride; Reda Salem, of Spring Lake, N.C., the bridegroom’s brother-in-law; and Hayes Carter, of Frisco, Texas, Sean Cusson, of Boston, Britton McConathy, of Calgary, Kirk Williamson, of New Orleans, David Cowen of Farmington, N.M. and David Upbin, Ethan Bronstein and Aaron Frazier, all of Washington, DC.
Lily Bertles, the bride’s niece, served as flower girl. William M. Bertles IV, the bride’s nephew, was ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Everglades Club in Palm Beach.
The bride is a realtor with McEnearney Associates in Washington, D.C. and previously worked as an account supervisor at Edelman Public Relations. She is an alumna of Deerfield Academy and The George Washington University.
The groom is an alumnus of Cedar Creek School and The George Washington University. He works on the Majority staff of the House Committee on Natural Resources and previously served as assistant press secretary to Former Vice President Dick Cheney.
After a honeymoon in the British Virgin Islands, the Hennigans will make their home in Washington, D.C.
