Deputies, postal inspectors warn against email scams

Most of the emails originate in a foreign country such as Canada or Nigeria, and more and more of them are being sent to Lincoln Parish residents, Deputy Investigator Chad Alexander said.
"The scammers say the email recipient stands to inherit a great deal of money or that they have a great deal of money the scammer has to get out of the country," Alexander said. "The only way to stop it is to go over there and arrest people and we can't do that because of jurisdiction."
