A group of boy scouts from Grambling raises the flag Friday morning at the Juneteenth opening ceremonies at the Grambling Community Center.

GRAMBLING — The heat from the sun may have been beaming down on everyone present, but that didn’t stop people from having a good time Friday and Saturday during the first two days of Grambling’s annual Juneteenth Heritage Festival.

The festivities kicked off with a flag ceremony followed by a pageant on Friday, and then continued with a sea of events on Saturday.

Between parades, car shows and fun-filled events in the park, those attending the festival had plenty of ways to pass the time.
