The warmer weather may have given people a chance to get in their pools or find other ways to cool down, but the climb in temperature has also coincided with a climb in burglaries.

Officials with both the Ruston Police Department and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office report that crime goes up during the hot, summer months, and that both plan on cracking down on criminals to keep crime rates low.

Officers were able to do just that recently as the LPSO, along with the RPD, Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office and Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office, arrested three individuals allegedly responsible for a slew of approximately nine burglaries in Lincoln Parish along the Bienville and Claiborne Parish lines.
