The Ruston High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) traveled to the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas from June 27 until July 3 to compete against the best business students in the nation and surrounding countries.

Members enjoyed the Riverwalk, the Alamo, the San Antonio Zoo and many other local attractions. On to the business at hand, seven students represented Ruston High School in national competition, with all students performing well and representing Louisiana as winners from district and state competition. After months of study and practice, the results were announced and Ruston High School led the state in recognized winners. Louisiana had a total of four individuals/teams earn national placements of fifth, fifth, sixth and eighth, and Ruston High School won the top two of these national placements and had a member win the America Award. In addition, the Ruston High School chapter was awarded the Hollis and Kitty Guy Gold Seal Chapter of Merit, given to the top 15 percent of chapters from each state nationwide.
