Hot weather cooling off

Although July and August are typically the hottest months of the year, the chances of it hitting triple digit temperatures in the next couple of weeks are slim to none.

“The chances are next to nothing, because of heavy rainfall that we are receiving,” said C.S. Ross, hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Shreveport.

Ross said, so far, the highest reported temperature for Lincoln Parish this month was 99 on July 6. However, temperatures may not reach this level again for a while. After a dry spell throughout the month of June, rain that began earlier this week is predicted to continue throughout the weekend.
